Spring Road Trips in Tennessee

With winter temperatures finally behind us, it’s time to plan for a beautiful and exciting spring in and around Tennessee. Spring road trips mean gathering the entire family and heading out for some fun– it is time to make some memories before the start of summer when places get crowded. Regardless of your exact destination and how many days you’re able to get away for, it’s reassuring to know that your car’s windshield can be serviced by Auto Glass Service anywhere in the state of Tennessee, or almost anywhere in the country by our sister company Glass America.

Traveling through Tennessee

Nashville

Have you been to Music City? Nashville is home to The Parthenon, several plantations and wineries, and some of the greatest food in the South. The Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium regularly host some of the newer artists in country music as well as some of the legends – there’s no place better to see them perform. A visit to the home of country music history at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is another great way to spend a day.

Gatlinburg

In the heart of the Smoky Mountains sits this picturesque town with local restaurants helping you kickstart your day with Southern-style pancakes, fried apples, and grits. Local artisans create beautiful items you’ll be happy to take home as souvenirs. Whether you want to spend your days shopping in town or doing something more adventurous like rafting, hiking, fishing, or horseback riding, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park has it all. You do not have to go far to see wildlife such as bears, elk, and deer on most days, so we encourage a drive through the mountains with frequent stops to enjoy the views from lookouts.

Pigeon Forge

Right outside Gatlinburg sits the mountain town of Pigeon Forge. A visit to the area is not complete without a visit to Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s Appalachian-themed amusement park. Fun for all ages, mini-golf and go-karting are a great way to spend a day and you can end it with a great dinner show the whole family will love. If you are looking for something more adventurous, head out on a whitewater rafting excursion or for a day of hiking and wildlife spotting in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Knoxville

Located on the Tennessee River in the eastern part of the state, Knoxville is must on your spring road trip. Market Square has beautiful history with its 19th century buildings that make a day of shopping and eating very picturesque and delicious. Built by the Revolutionary War captain, James White’s Fort gives the chance to go back in time and visit the 1786 log cabin that was Knoxville’s first permanent building. The Sunsphere built in 1982 for the World’s Fair and Knoxville Museum of Art are also highly recommended for travelers of all ages.

Chattanooga

In the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, any visit to Chattanooga must include a visit to Lookout Mountain, Ruby Falls waterfall, and Rock City – talk about great places to take photos. A walk across the Walnut Street Bridge is also a must because you’ll be walking right over the beautiful Tennessee River – we recommend doing it in the daytime and in the evening. With other places to check out like the Tennessee Aquarium, Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, and the Raccoon Mountain Caverns, the whole family will love every moment spent exploring Chattanooga.

Clarksville

Located in northern Tennessee, a visit to Clarksville should include some time spent at the Dunbar Cave complex. Vineyards and distilleries are popular stops in the area as well. History lovers will thoroughly enjoy getting to see Fort Defiance Civil War Park & Interpretive Center firsthand. Downtown Clarksville is home to the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center, Rotary Park, and the Cumberland Riverwalk – all great spots to spend some time having fun with the family.

When you’re planning your spring road trip through Tennessee, we encourage you to allow time to stop and enjoy the views of the mountains, rivers, and lakes around you. Make some unplanned stops and enjoy the fresh air of the Volunteer State – you won’t regret it. Wherever your adventures in Tennessee take you, should you run into any issues with your car’s windshield or other auto glass, do not hesitate to contact Auto Glass Service. We will happily come out to repair or replace your vehicle’s windshield wherever you are enjoying the day with our FREE mobile service.
